This China Addendum (“Addendum”) applies to you if you are an individual in China. The terms set out in this Addendum are in addition to the terms set out in this Privacy Policy. Where the PIPL applies, we process your Personal Data based on the appropriate legal justifications under the PIPL such as:

Processing Sensitive Personal Data

Some of the Personal Data we process about you may fall into the scope of Sensitive Personal Data under the PIPL, which refers to Personal Data once leaked or illegally used may lead to negative impact on personal rights and interests, such as infringement of human dignity or harm to personal or property safety. We only process Sensitive Personal Data where it is highly necessary to fulfill the processing purposes listed in the Privacy Policy and will take measures to minimize the potential impact on you.

To the extent as permitted by laws and regulations, we may not respond to your request in the following circumstances:

  • if the requested data involves trade secrets.

Cross-border data transfer outside China

Your Personal Data may be transferred to Albemarle Corporation (“Overseas Recipient”) located outside China via networks to provide you the websites, manage and respond to your inquires, manage your job applications, and to maintain a global operation and management of customer and vendor relations. Specifically, if you are a business contacts of our customers or vendors in China, we may transfer your basic information including name, email address, phone number, company and position to the Overseas Recipient.

Under the standard contract for the cross-border transfer of Personal Data between our China entity and Albemarle Corporation, you can be considered a third-party beneficiary and entitled to exercise the third-party beneficiary rights if you do not expressly refuse within 30 days upon acceptance of this Privacy Policy.
